In September 1974 Warhol painted nine portraits of his mothe Julia Warhola. These were the last paintings made at the 33 Union Square studio. The photo Warhol used as a source for the paintings has not been identified so far but it appears to date from the lats 50´s around the same time Duane Michal´s photogtaphs of warhol and his mother.
No print edition was ever made. This particular print is unique in it´s color variation. We have seen four different impressions this being one of them. Red, Pink, Orange and Green. All probably color test prints. Approximately same size. Most warhol paintings has the silk screened color as black. But not the paintings of Julia Warhola.
