From Annie Hurn. (bomb hugger - from Juliens Auction - in 2003 on the frontpage of Basingstoke Gazette. We tracked down the holder and owner of the placard Annie Hurn. We bought the very placard later. It´s now in a Copenhagen based collection.
Annie has change her name since.
Hi Peter,
Thanks for the email. Yes this is me. How did you find my email address btw? Just out of interest?
The piece formed part of a placard with a piece of wood attached to it. My friends and family were at the Anti Iraq war (weapons of mass destruction) protest in London and whilst going over a bridge my friend and I spied around 6/7 individuals coming out of a lockup under the bridge with about ten each of these placards. This was in the days before Banksy was a household name. My friend and I were big into the graffiti scene and knew who he was and immediately went over to the group and requested one each, both of the girl holding the bomb, there were others; I remember the rat and the smiley face police officer.
Each person had about ten and quite honestly for some the load was too heavy so they offloaded them on us! My friend still has one I believe locked in a safe in London somewhere and mine I sold some years ago at Auction in America - Julien's Street Art is the name.
I believe they had one similar previously from another lady who had found hers abandoned on the way home on a tube train and sold it for a good price. The UK auction houses wouldn't touch it because there was not a pencil signature on them however it was obvious it was his work and I believe he later verified this.
Thanks for the enquiry.
With gratitude and bright blessings

This give first hand evidence. Another evidence is Steve Lazarides books Banksy Captured, In these volumes we see plante of Grim Reapers when they are handed out. 3D from Massive attack holding one of them. So very plausible that the reapers was handed out at one location and the bomb huggers at another.
Many fakes are around but quite easy to spot. Please ask questions.
